J. Jeremy Meyers, Ph.D.

Jeremy is the esteemed founder, President, and CEO of Native American Industrial Solutions LLC (NAIS), a company distinguished by its 100% American Indian ownership. NAIS is recognized as an SBA 8(a) firm and a VA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). As a U.S. Army veteran, Jeremy dedicated over 13 years to serving as a Signal Corps and Foreign Area Officer. He is an alumnus of the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, holding a Bachelor of Science, and has earned a Doctorate in Logic from Stanford University.

 

Jeremy’s military career from 1998 to 2012 was marked by varied leadership roles, both with the U.S. Army and NATO. His noteworthy positions included being a Military Representative at the George C. Marshall Center for European Security Studies, an Assistant Professor at USMA, a Company Commander in Belgium, a Brigade Operations Officer and the Executive Officer in various NATO assignments, including missions in Kosovo and Germany.

 

Beyond his military and leadership achievements, Jeremy is deeply involved in academic pursuits related to logic, computational semantics, and artificial intelligence. Since 2007, he has been an active contributor to research in these fields, with numerous publications to his name. Jeremy’s academic contributions have led him to be a sought-after speaker across professional platforms in the United States and Europe. Proud of his heritage, Jeremy is also an official member of the Santa Rosa Band of Cahuilla Indians.

Missy is a distinguished leader who seamlessly bridges the world of Information Technology and Cybersecurity with unparalleled expertise and dedication. With a storied career that commenced in the US Navy, she served with honor as an Information Professional Officer for nearly 23 years. Throughout her tenure, she was at the forefront of innovation and security, safeguarding national interests with unwavering commitment and precision.

 

Transitioning to the private sector, she has continued to excel, leading the charge on multiple multi-million dollar contracts. Her leadership is characterized by a visionary approach, ensuring projects not only meet but exceed expectations with efficiency and agility. Her academic achievements include a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, providing a solid foundation for her strategic and operational prowess.

 

Missy holds an impressive array of certifications, underscoring her commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning. She is a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) & Agile Hybrid Project Pro from PMI, Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) from ISC2, and boasts the CompTIA Security+ certification. Further elevating her credentials, she is a Certified Project Director (CPD) through the Institute of Project Management and is currently advancing her expertise as a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Chief Information Officer​ & Executive VP for Information Technology and Security

Daniel V. Medina

Dan has over 20 years of experience as an information security principal in the United States government and in the private sector. He is a proven national security, cybersecurity, strategic risk planner, and operations leader who has managed various security engagements, including security architecture reviews, security baseline standards development, enhancing the protection of controlled unclassified information, and incident response cases around the world and in austere environments. Dan specializes in designing pragmatic standards-based solutions to complex information security problems in order to meet business needs and ensure success.

 

Previously, Dan worked as a Senior Director for National Security, Trade, and Technology enabling Fortune 100 companies, investors, organizations, and their counsel navigate the rapidly changing business and compliance environment in areas such as: CMMC, DFARS, CFIUS, C-SCRM. Dan also worked at an international private sector software company where he was responsible for developing and leading strategic engagement, thought leadership, and business development. Before moving to the private sector Dan was the Chief of Staff of the Office of Cybersecurity and Communications, for the Department of Homeland Security which includes the management of a workforce of more than 1044 federal employees and a budget of over $1 billion. In this position Dan was as a key advisor on statue, strategy, and performance to the Assistant Secretary of Cybersecurity and Communications in planning the overall management policies, programs, and short and or long-range initiatives to lead the national effort to protect and enhance the resilience of the nation’s physical and cyber infrastructure.

Dan is a Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executive Fellow, a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon Executive Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Program, has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology.

Chief Risk Officer & Executive VP for Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC)

Matthew A. Shabat

Matt is a cybersecurity and risk management professional with 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors. He holds a B.A. from Stanford University, a M.A. in Security Policy Studies from the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He completed the Senior Executive Fellows Program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He is an adjunct lecturer at Georgetown University with a focus on cybersecurity governance and cybersecurity law and regulation. A student of complexity theory, he has applied methodologies associated with the study of complex adaptive systems to network intrusion pattern recognition and to malware detection.

 

Prior to joining NAIS, Matt served as the U.S. Strategy Manager for a cybersecurity software company where, among other duties, he provided guidance on cyber threat information sharing, designed a forensics workbench around the company’s software, and provided other technical and strategic support. He served for nearly 10 years in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s former Office of Cybersecurity & Communications, most recently as a cybersecurity strategist and as the Director of Performance Management, and previously as the National Cyber Security Division’s chief of staff. While at DHS, Matt led DHS and interagency implementation of the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act, supported maturation of cyber risk management practices and the cyber insurance marketplace, oversaw development of an operationally-relevant approach to measuring the costs of cybersecurity, contributed performance goals to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, led strategic planning, and developed program performance metrics. Before DHS, Matt was a Research Fellow with the Institute for National Strategic Studies at the National Defense University.

 

He began his career at Mayer Brown LLP in Chicago, practicing securities, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate law. While no longer a practicing attorney, Matt remains committed to providing senior leadership at NAIS and its clients with technical advice in a manner that is relevant to their business or mission functions.

Her expertise spans across network infrastructure, telecommunications, security operations, and business process improvement, underpinned by a solid foundation in project management.

 

Jen’s technical acumen is matched only by her leadership skills. Known for her ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams under high-stress conditions, she excels in forging key relationships and fostering effective partnerships. Her leadership style is deeply influenced by her belief in “one team, one fight,” a philosophy that emphasizes unity, inclusion, and compassion in the workplace. Jen is a strong proponent of servant leadership and is committed to fostering an environment of continuous growth and learning.

 

In her academic pursuits, Jen has distinguished herself with a Master of Science in Information Systems Management and a Cybersecurity certificate. Her educational background is further complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Beyond her formal education, Jen is continuously enhancing her skill set; she is Security+ certified, holds a Google Project Management certification, and is currently pursuing both the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certifications.

Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (DCISO)

Justin Rowland

Justin’s IT journey began with a four-year tenure in the United States Air Force as a Secure Communications Systems Apprentice, setting the foundation for his profound expertise in the field. Transitioning from military service, he embarked on a 15-year journey in professional services, dedicating a significant portion of this time—12 years—to supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). At DISA, he notably led a team for McAfee within the Host Based Security System program office for five years. Following his tenure at DISA, Justin explored roles that further diversified his expertise, including a stint as a solutions architect for a leading threat intelligence company and later as a Sales Engineer at Glasswall Solutions.

 

With over two decades of experience across various facets of the Department of Defense’s IT landscape, Justin has cultivated a versatile skill set, mastering the design, management, and sales of comprehensive IT services. His broad expertise has established him as a versatile figure in the cyber industry, aptly described as a “jack of all trades.”

 

In addition to his professional achievements, Justin is committed to continuous personal development, holding a CompTIA Security+ certification and a Fire Fighter certification in Maryland. In his role at the company, Justin serves as the Deputy Chief Information Officer, bringing leadership to several critical areas including acting as the Alternate Facility Security Officer, leading the Incident Response Team, and directing Information Technology initiatives.
